*15 Of The Most Iconic Shoe Trends Making A Comeback

There’s some things that just never go out of style, and that’s definitely the case with these shoe trends. If you’ve been looking for a new way to revamp your style, revisiting these old shoe trends could be the answer. Take a look at out top picks that’ll help you stay fashionable.

1. Chunky Sneakers

No surprise here, this has been one of the most popular shoe trends for a while now and it’s definitely not going anywhere! This style was initially popularized in the 90’s and we are so happy it came back around.

Chunky sneakers go with anything and you can find a picture of just about any celebrity wearing them. You can remain casual and wear them with jeans, or you can go for a more dress approach and even pair them with a dress.

The appeal of the chunky sneaker is that it usually adds some height and it makes your foot look bigger therefore making your legs look smaller. It’s also a great way to have a statement piece in y0ur outfit if you decide to get a chunky sneaker with some color.

2. Kitten Heels

Just about a year ago the first thing that would come to mind when talking kitten heels was an outdated style, but not anymore! Kitten heels have regained their elegance and have become one of the most prominent shoe trends for this season.

Kitten heels are elegant and classy and look great with anything. If you don’t like to wear super high heels a kitten heel is a great option for you. You still get all the elegance and sophistication of a heel but it’s not too much.

3. Mules

Mules are one of the shoe trends that seem to come in and out of the fashion scene pretty frequently. What we’re trying to say is that it’s good to have a pair of this in your closet because they always go in and out of trend.

Mules are an adorable elevated version of a sandal if you’re looking to look a little more sophisticated. They can really make your casual look a lot more elevated and put together. At the moment they are definitely back on trend so it’s a great time to go invest in a pair.

4. Mary Jane’s

Mary Jane’s are one of the oldest shoe trends that never seem to go away. The style was first popularized in the early 1900’s! It’s a timeless piece that never seems to go out of style.

Nowadays they have been greatly modernized, and there are so many different versions and styles of Mary Jane’s you can find on the market. We think a pair with a heel like the one below is a great edgy and cute take on the classic.

5. Oxfords

Talk about class! These are so chic and elegant. Normally when you picture Oxfords you think of a businessman or something to wear to the office but times have changed thankfully. Now it’s a model off duty staple shoe.

This is a very androgynous type of shoe that can make your outfit look a lot more expensive, who doesn’t want that?

6. Platform Everything

Another ode to the 90’s is the new wave of platform shoes. Platform shoes are so flattering and just cute all around. They make you look taller, elongate the leg, and help your shoe of choice to stand out.

Anywhere you shop right now you can find just about every shoe in platform because it’s been one of the most prominent shoe trends of the year. Platform heels, sandals, and sneakers will be your new go-to!

7. Jelly Shoes

This is something we never expected to see come back! Jelly shoes were one of the biggest trends in the early 2000’s and it was mainly worn by children. Not anymore! Jelly shoes are back and have become chic, who would’ve thought?

This is probably one of the more uncomfortable trends because these shoes are known f0r giving blisters, but still so cute regardless! These can give a fun playful element to any look.

8. Square Toes

The infamous 90’s and early 2000’s square toe trend is back! Square toe boots and heels have been all over the runways this season, and have been worn by the most stylish models and influencers everywhere.

Square toe shoes offer a more chic and sharp twist to classic shoes such as the boot and heel. They look more sophisticated and expensive than a round toe or pointed toe would.

9. Loafer

Just like the Oxford, when you think of a loafer you picture a business man and it would be foreign for a woman to wear them. Now it can be a nice elegant touch to any outfit. Just like in the photo below you can style it with jeans and use the shoe to elevate your look.

Espadrilles are one the comfiest shoe trends so no wonder they are making a comeback! These are a comfy and classy way to stay casual and cute. Throw these one with your favorite jeans and you’re ready to conquer the day!

11. Funky Colors

The best way to add a statement piece to an outfit without doing too much is to have a shoe with a pop of color. One of the hottest shoe trends at the moment is funky colors so this would be perfect.

If you’re looking for a pop of color that is still semi neutral the color of the season is sage green. It still is more on the neutral side but can seriously add a lot to your out fit.

12. Flip Flop Heels

This year is all about the 90’s so of course the classic flip flop heels are making a comeback. These are a sexy take on a classic casual flip flop.

If you’ve ever wanted to wear a flip flop but felt it was too casual for your outfit then this would be the perfect shoe for the occasion!

13. Cake Stand Heels

Another 90’s shoe trend, are we even surprised at this point? Cake stand heels are all the rage in the celebrity and model world and have been seen numerous times on fashionistas Kendall Jenner and Bella Hadid.

It’s a fun geometric twist to any regular heel and it gives it a playful element.

14. Wooden Bottoms

When you initially think of wooden shoes a clog comes to mind, and this is like a hybrid of an elegant heel and clog. These are definitely on the more casual side if you need a heel to compliment a casual look. The perfect place to wear these would be a brunch where you’re having mimosas with the girls!

15. Wrap Around Details

Wrap around details have been one of the most popular shoe trends the last few years and they aren’t going anywhere anytime soon. It’s a feminine touch to take your heels and your outfit to the next level!
