10 Ways To Organize Your Life So That You Can Be More Productive

If you’re a go-getter who wants to achieve all of their goals, then you need to be more organized. Organization is the fastest route to being more productive, which in turn will help you achieve success sooner. If you want to live a more productive life each and every day, then try making some small changes to your day-to-day routine.

1. Calendars

The first step in being more productive is to have a visual representation of your planned week. You should have at least two separate versions of the same Calendar. A large one that you will place somewhere that you’ll see it every day. Try placing your large calendar in your kitchen, bedroom or even your bathroom.

Then you should get a smaller notebook calendar, one that will fit inside your bag, and carry it with you everywhere you go. This way you can write down new events and deadlines as you find out about them. Two calendars that all share the same information is the best way to stay productive and on top of your week/month.

2. To-Go Bags

Stop scrambling around every morning trying to find everything you need for the day, this is a huge waste of time and chances are you will forget something. Pack all your items in a to-go bag the night before and place it somewhere you look every day so that you don’t forget it, like by your shoes. Pack your phone charger, car keys, phone, notebooks and wallet in this bag to ensure that you never leave any important items behind again. You can buy different to-go bags in assorted colors and sizes to ensure they match your look.

3. Make Sure Everything Has a Place

If you find yourself looking for that perfect shade of lipstick, your favorite blue pen, or even your phone charger, you’re probably not very organized. Relax, there is a simple way to make your life more productive. Make sure everything has a place. If an item of yours doesn’t, throw it out.

4. Labels

This may seem like an overdramatization, but if you really want to be more organized you’ll need to label everything. Invest in a label maker and get to it! Label your notebooks, drawers, cupboards, closets, bathroom, and cleaning products.

Although this is over the top, and you’ll feel like a crazy person, it’ll be worth it. You won’t have to keep all the labels forever, but they will help you stay organized while you’re getting started on your goals.

5. Plan Ahead

If you want to be more productive then plan your day, week and month in advance. By writing down your events and deadlines in advance you will be better able to stay ahead of what needs to be accomplished. I wouldn’t recommend planning out more than a month though, plans will change and you will want to be flexible.

6. Clean

A clean home is a clean mind. If you want to have more time for your personal goals, and less time cleaning the house every single day, then do a big clean once a month. Scrub everything down, wash all the sheets and towels at the start of the month. Take a full day to clean up your home and workspace so that you can spend the other 29 days doing what you love.

7. De-Clutter

While you’re cleaning up you may find there is a lot of junk you don’t need anymore. Throw away anything that isn’t useful, doesn’t have a specific purpose, or that you haven’t used in a year. A good rule of thumb is, if it doesn’t bring you joy or increase your bank account, then don’t keep it.

8. Wake Up At The Same Time Every day

Waking up at the same time every day will help you get the most out of every 24 hour period. By putting yourself on a consistent schedule you are allowing yourself more time during the day to get things done and not feel rushed. Pick a time and stick with it, even on the weekends.

9. Watch Less TV

I know, I love Friends too, it is a great show that we all could watch over and over again. However, watching Ross and Rachel break up over and over again isn’t help you achieve your dreams or be more productive. Limit your distractions, restrict yourself to one hour of tv, phone and luxury internet time a day. With all that time you spend watching TV being cleared up you will have more time for the important stuff.

10. Write Everything Down

Invest in some cute and colorful notebooks because you’re going to want to use them all after you read this tip. There is nothing wrong with occasionally making notes on your phone if you want to forget them instantly. If you want to remember important details, projects, names, and numbers then write it all down. Putting pen to paper will make you more productive and organized.

Are you ready to become more productive, focused and achieve more goals? Clean up your life and mind to have a clearer focus on what’s important in life.
