Us make-up lovers of the world has probably spent countless hours in beauty stores or online trying to find the perfect shade of nude lipstick. But sometimes, you just don’t want to spend a fortune on make-up, especially as a student, and that’s where the drugstore brands come in. Some of them are seriously amazing and that’s why I’ve gathered 10 of my favorite products from three drugstore beauty brands (NYX, Maybelline and L’Oréal) that won’t completely empty your wallet.
NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipsticks
The NYX matte lipsticks are some of the best liquid lipsticks I’ve ever tried, if not the very best. They are super easy to apply and they don’t smudge so you won’t have to reapply the lipstick every five seconds. For a nude lip, I recommend the colors soft-spoken and sandstorm. The very best thing about these amazing products is that they are only $6.99!
L’Oréal – Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara
This L’Oréal mascara is supposed to be the drugstore equivalent to the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara that so many of us know and love. I absolutely adore the Better than Sex mascara but this cheaper L’Oréal version is actually a great option if you don’t want to spend much on a mascara. It makes your lashes look a lot fuller and it lasts all day long.
Maybelline – Lash Sensational Mascara
If you don’t want to spend a small fortune on a mascara but still want one that does the job, then the lash sensational mascara from Maybelline is a good choice. It’s only $8.99 and honestly as good as most of the more expensive mascaras I’ve tried. It doesn’t get clumpy and it’s easy to apply. The best part is that the mascara gives the illusion that your lashes look a lot longer and thicker.
NYX – Matte Finish Makeup Setting Spray
This product has a great price and it makes your makeup last all day which is the BEST feeling. It’s a great substitute for the more expensive brands so I definitely recommend this if you want to save some money.
NYX – Warm Neutrals Ultimate Shadow Palette
I realize that I recommend a lot of NYX products but the facts are that it’s a great brand that’s in a very affordable price range and who doesn’t love that?
This eyeshadow palette has a great range of pigmented colors that helps set up the perfect natural look.
L’Oréal – Colour Riche Shine Lipstick
I’m such a sucker for a pretty lip and these lipsticks from L’Oréal are great. They are super creamy and I love how these products can spice up any outfit. The fact that they are only $9.99 is also a huge bonus!
NYX – Tinted Brow Mascara
I’m one of those people who doesn’t fill in my brows with a pen but that’s because I was lucky enough to be blessed with naturally bushy brows but I do love myself a brow gel and this one from NYX works wonders. I usually go for the more expensive option with the Anastasia Beverly Hills tinted brow gel but if you don’t want to spend a huge amount of money on your brows, then this product from NYX is a great alternative that’s more affordable.
Maybelline – Fit me Matte + Poreless Liquid Foundation
This foundation is perfect if you’re looking for a more natural look and you don’t want to spend too much on a foundation. It’s not the best foundation I’ve ever tried, but it’s definitely one of the best drugstore options that I’ve found.
Maybelline – Fit me Concealer
The Fit Me Concealer is a fan favorite and there’s a reason for that, it’s a great product that only cost $6.99 and it gives great coverage. I would definitely recommend this concealer with the Fit Me Foundation from Maybelline if you’re looking for a great natural coverage that’s very affordable.
Maybelline – Fit Me Loose Finishing Powder
Last but certainly not least, we’ll finish (pun intended) with the Fit Me Loose Finishing Powder. It makes your face look really smooth and it adds a nice finishing touch to your makeup. It comes in a variety of shades which is great because there’s a good chance that you’ll find a shade that works for you.
