1. Do The Color Run

The Color Run is always lots of fun especially if you do it with friends! It usually takes place at the beginning of the semester (in August), so make sure to sign up in the summer. What could be a better way to start off your school year than a run through colored powder with your best friends?

2. Experience Darties

Darties, or day parties, are usually held at frat houses. Fortunately for us, UA is known for having great ones! Most of them happen in spring, but the few at the beginning of the fall are everyone’s favorite. Don’t miss out! Everyone has a great time, mostly drinking beer and dancing to music.

3. Attend Concerts

Big stars frequently come to the University of Alabama to perform and show us a good time, ESPECIALLY during football or basketball season. Past performers have included Waka Flocka Flame, Kirko Bangz, Travis Porter, and even Sean Kingston. Also note that Friday night band parties are totally worth going to.

4. Spend Hours on the Quad

The quad is the perfect hang out spot for students. You can do homework, chill, have a picnic, and enjoy the nice weather. Not only is it in the middle of campus, but it’s also where the historical Denny Chimes is located.

5. Join Greek LIFE!!

Joining a sorority or fraternity is an awesome and empowering experience that will change your college life. It’s a lifetime commitment, so if you’re interested, go for it (especially at Alabama)!

6. Enjoy The Riverwalk

The Riverwalk is within walking distance from the University. Here you can relax and enjoy nature. It’s a quiet setting and a great place to escape.

7. Check Out The Strip

The Strip is full of amazing stores and restaurants… including wait for it…. Chipotle. (That was for all you how I met your mother fans). The Strip gets PACKED after football games especially all the bars…and guys, Rounders is ALWAYS the move.

8. Plan Your Fall Break

I definitely did not know this was a thing before I came to college. Fall break is a 5 day break in October where everyone either goes home for the weekend, or stays at a friend’s house while relaxing. Seriously who doesn’t love a break from school?

9. Tailgate

Tailgating before or during a football game is always a great experience. You’ll set your tents up and cook, hang, or watch Nick Saban and the boys get another win!

10. SUPPORT ALABAMA FOOTBALL!

Who DOESN’T enjoy watching Alabama football? Seeing it on television is cool, but being in the Bryant Denny Stadium (around thousands of other screaming fans) is unbelievable. The football team is one of the many reasons why the University of Alabama is the best school in the country!
