Spring break is a right of passage for every college student. It can be a week of nonstop partying on the beach, or a time for exploring places we’ve never been before. We’ve put together a list of the 12 best college spring break locations for you to check out this year. Weather you decide to pack your swim suit or your best walking shoes, you’re gonna be in for one fun ride!

South Padre Island, TX

South Padre Island attracts a swarm of college spring breakers every year. If you’re in the mood to party, then this is definitely one of the spots you should consider. Your days will be filled with massive beach parties, followed by nights in their club scene. They also have been known to host some pretty epic music festivals and performing artists. If you like EDM check out UME, if hip hop is more your style hit up Beach Bash, Cardi-B is set to headline this year!

Panama City Beach, Florida

Panama City has self declared itself “Spring Break Capital of the World” so you know you’re in for a good time when you visit the city on your college spring break. They’ve got beach front bars and resorts, hot night clubs, and a calendar jam packed with special performances from your favorite recording artists. Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

Myrtle Beach is another popular college spring break destination. Myrtle Beach also offers a host of activities for spring breakers to embark on, weather you want to party or just relax. If you’re there to party, then head out to the Boardwalk for the best clubs and bars around. In the mood to just chill? Rent a beachfront Airbnb away from the Boardwalk for a more secluded beach town vibe. As an added bonus Myrtle Beach is a pretty budget friendly destination.

Cabos San Lucas, Mexico

Cabos San Lucas, or Cabo as it is more commonly known, is an OG college spring break destination. The beach town in Mexico pulls out all the stops to make sure spring breakers have the best time. Cabo has no shortage of all inclusive resorts (and yes, even alcoholic drinks are included) many of which host pre-game parties before you head out to their legendary night club scene. Cabo also pulls in the music heavy hitters, this year Migos is set to headline their JusCollege spring break concert series.

Las Vegas, Nevada

Las Vegas is known world wide for its infamous party scene. So is it any surprise that Sin City would be known as one of the most popular spots for spring breakers? With posh day clubs in almost every hotel on the strip, there is no shortage of party spots to hit up. Spend all day at a day party, then head out to the most popular nightclubs in the world. Many of the tops DJs love to head to Vegas around this time of year, so you know you’ll get to see the best performances.

Cancun, Mexico

If you want your spring break trip to look a little like what you use to watch on MTV growing up, then Cancun may just be the spot for you. With epic pool parties, beach parties, and nightlife, Cancun is one of the wildest college spring break destinations. Stay at an all inclusive resort and be sure to hit up their EDM music festival, Inception, to take things to the next level. The beaches are beautiful, and the party scene is amazing, this destination is pretty much a win-win.

Nassau, Bahamas

The Bahamas are beautiful to visit at any time of year, but around March, the island of Nassau is filled with spring breakers ready to party. Nassau pulls out all the stops for its visitors and offers unique packages to make the most of a spring breakers trip. Go down to the docks and hitch a ride on one of the many epic yacht parties, or head out to ULTRA music fest, one of the worlds most popular EDM festivals. There is so much to experience while in Miami, it’s hard to fit everything into your spring break dates.

When you want a break from the beach, but still enjoy a great music scene, Nashville is the perfect spring break destination. Their nightlife scene is equal to any famous beach town spots, only expect a little more live country, blues, and jazz music, and a little less dancing on the bar. There’s so much to see while you’re in Nashville, such as museums, murals, and nightly music performances. There’s always the option to day drink, or spend your days exploring the city, or try both at the same time! And since Nashville isn’t typically associated with spring break, you’ll get better rates on hotels and activities.

New Orleans, Louisiana

Mardi Gras just happens to fall during spring break this year, making this college spring break destination even more sought after. Mardi Gras in New Orleans is a sight to see all its own, but combine that with a spring break mentality and you’ve got one amazing trip in the works. See the parade, drink in hand of course, and wander the clubs and bars of Bourbon Street for an experience unlike any other. Book your trip ASAP though, New Orleans is a very popular destination during Mardi Gras.

 

Austin, Texas

Austin is becoming increasingly popular as a college spring break destination thanks to its South by Southwest festivals. SXSW is a unique experience that couples massive music concerts and festivals, with tech and interactive media conferences, networking events, film festivals, and art exhibits. Everyone from Drake, to Lana Del Rey, to Bernie Sanders have performed or spoken at SXSW. If your ideal college spring break destination doesn’t involve temperatures above 75 degrees, than Breckenridge is the perfect spot for you. A trip to snow covered mountains offers the unique experience of, well, snow covered activities. Think skiing, snowboarding, tubing, and of course drinking in the lodge. Breckenridge also likes to give spring breakers a party to come to, offering day parties, music performances and a nightlife scene.
